About Us
Honest Fish Farm is situated in the heart of the California Delta. First generation farmers, Jeremy & Elizabeth, began this journey with a love for quality food. We bought our first round of chickens in the spring of 2017, 35 little chicks that opened the door for many more to come.
Jeremy began his farming journey in high school. Always surrounded by horses and many critters at home, it was natural for him to join his high school Future Farmers of America (FFA) program. Through FFA he gained knowledge in farm management, animal welfare and most importantly.. POULTRY! Yes, Mr. Fish had the Grand Champion Turkey his junior year. Little did he know, that love for poultry would carry into his adult life when we would be caring for thousands of chickens.
Elizabeth is your classic city girl gone country. Growing up in the central valley, she was surrounded by farm land but never knew that would be her life one day. Elizabeth spent years as a preschool teacher before having their first child and beginning their farming journey. Although she lacks much knowledge in farming she has a passion for animal welfare, food health and hard work.
Together, we grew tired of a disturbed food system. A system that offers low quality food affordably or clean food at an outrageous cost. Starting with a small garden in our backyard and spending our weekends shopping at local farmers markets, the idea of starting our own farm grew. Then, after having our first daughter, we realized… we can do this!
Together we have dedicated our time and energy into building a farm that is sustainable and beneficial to everyone, animals & people alike. Jeremy’s passion for knowledge shines, he researches and studies our animals. Learning as much as he can about animal health and the entire meat program process. Elizabeth has grown into the tender farmer, building bonds with animals and organizing the “business” side of the farm. Here we are, almost 6 years from ordering our first set of birds, 5 years from our first group of hogs.. proudly raising quality, affordable, clean pork & poultry. Getting to sell at the local markets we once visited as customers. Hopefully raising our two girls, the 2nd generation farmers, to love this farm life as much as we do.
